During this session your child will be able to: 

  1. Set Clear Goals: Having clear goals will keep you focused and motivated.
  2. Time Management:Create a study schedule that allocates specific time blocks for studying. 
  3. Create a Productive Study Environment:Find a quiet, well-lit, and comfortable place to study. Minimize distractions, and ensure they have all the necessary materials and resources at hand.
  4. Active Learning: How to engage with the lessons actively. 
  5. Effective Note-Taking:Develop a note-taking system that works. 
  6. Mind Mapping :Create visual aids, diagrams, and mind maps to help understand complex concepts and their relationships.
  7. Stress Management:Practice mindfulness techniques and stress management strategies to stay calm and focused during intense study periods.
  8. Memory techniques: often referred to as mnemonic devices, can help improve memory and retention of information

Canva for Newbies!

Canva is a user-friendly graphic design platform that can help you with various design projects. Here are some fundamental Canva skills to get you started:

  1. Basic navigation:Familiarize yourself with the Canva dashboard, where you can create new designs, access templates, and find your existing projects.
  2. Template customisation:Start by selecting a design type or template that suits your project, such as flyers, posters, or presentations.
  3. Customizing Templates:Use the template as a starting point and customize it by changing text, images, colors, and fonts to match your brand or content.
  4. Graphics and Elements:Enhance your design by adding elements like shapes, icons, stickers, lines, and illustrations.
  5. Text Manipulation:Add and edit text in your design. Customize the font, size, color, alignment, spacing, and other text properties.
  6. Layer Management:Understand the concept of layers in Canva. 
  7. Downloading and Exporting:Once your design is complete, download it in various formats such as PNG, JPEG, PDF, or more, depending on your needs.
  8. Preview and Presentation Mode:Use the preview mode to see how your design will appear when published. For presentations, Canva offers a presentation mode for seamless viewing.

  2. Engaging Opening:Start with a captivating hook, a compelling story, or a thought-provoking question to grab your audience's attention from the beginning.
  3. Confidence and Body Language:Maintain good posture, make eye contact, and use gestures to convey confidence and engagement. 
  4. Voice Control:Speak clearly and at an appropriate volume. Vary your tone, pitch, and speed to keep your audience's attention.
  5. Time Management:Respect your allotted time and practice to stay within the time limit. 
  6. Adaptability:Be prepared to adapt to unexpected situations, such as technical difficulties or questions. Stay calm and composed.
  7. Stay Calm Under Pressure:Deep breathing, visualization, and relaxation techniques can help you stay calm.
